PLAYOFFS ?????

When word got out that the Dallas Stars hired new GM Josh Hockridge everyone thought that the Stars would go into rebuild mode since they were sitting in 14th place in the Western conference. But the opposite actually happened, In his first move they traded Captain Francois Beauchemin and Cedric Paquette to Florida in exchange for Andrew Copp and Stephen Johns. It didn’t seem like a big move at first but it changed the culture of the dressing room. Travis Zajac and Michael Frolik both took on a bigger leadership role with the club and the team started to find there groove. 

The second move was the most important one with Steve Mason and Tommy Wingels being acquired from Montreal. Mason was having a sluggish start to the season having a record of 2-4-1 but he turn his season around and saved the Stars season going 30 - 9 - 7 with a 905 sv%. 

Its would be easy to pick Mason as the Stars MVP but Travis Zajac also had a career year (1st in assists and Tied for 2nd in league scoring) Michael Frolik had a career year (Tied for 2nd in league goals) and Josh Ho sang has a outstanding rookie season in which he finishes 2nd in rookie scoring to Mathews.

Fast forward to today, with a big win 5-1 win over the sharks the Stars have officially booked there ticket to the playoffs. No one expected them to make the playoffs and they don’t know who the will face in the first round but the Stars are hoping to keep proving there doubters wrong.
