Après plusieurs saisons difficiles, on peut finalement dire que les Rangers sont officiellement de retour dans la compétition.

Après une tentative infructueuse de rebâtir l’équipe par la jeunesse DG Emond à finalement décidé que les fans méritaient une équipe gagnante dès maintenant. À l’automne, l’équipe présentera une défensive complètement transformée :

Morgan Reilly – Acquis via transaction

Noah Hanifin – Acquis via transaction

Ryan Graves – Acquis via transaction

Brent Seabrook – Acquis via les UFA

Jake Gardiner - Acquis via les UFA

À l’attaque, l’équipe pourra compter sur 4 trios assez balancés. Trois joueurs d’expérience et de talent viennent se greffer au top 6 :

Sean Couturier – Acquis via transaction

David Perron – Acquis via UFA

Paul Stastny - Acquis via UFA

Le bottom 6 est aussi très intéressant, puisqu’il est composé de joueurs avec un certains tallent offensif, mais aussi responsable défensivement. Notons également l’émergence de deux jeunes (Eriksson-Ek et Kunin) qui auront plus de responsabilités cette saison dont celle de faire fonctionner le désavantage numérique cette saison :

Tyler Pitlick – Acquis via UFA

Devant les buts, Marc-André Fleury viendra porter main forte à Linus Ullmark. On souhaite que son expérience aide le jeune gardien à atteindre le niveau supérieur.

L’équipe a dû sacrifier beaucoup de son avenir pour avoir une équipe compétitive cette saison, mais l’avenir est quand même prometteur quand on regarde la progression des jeunes Chytil et Kotkaniemi qui seront surement appelé à venir prêter main forte à l’équipe en cas de blessure. L’équipe est aussi très contente d’être en mesure de parler 2 fois en première ronde lors du repêchage de cette année, même s’il s’agit de deux sélections en fin de première ronde.

Lorsqu’on demande à DG Emond si on doit prévoir d’autres moves de sa part, voici ce qu’il avait à dire :

« Nous avons déjà informé Carl Dalstrom que nous allons probablement l’échanger étant donné notre situation financière. À part ça, on regarde toujours pour s’améliorer. Si on peut avoir un meilleur joueur en échange d’un de nos attaquants et d’un jeune ou d’un choix au repêchage on évaluera la proposition. Par contre, je n’ai aucune intention d’affaiblir ma formation actuelle. »
