Predators welcome new GM

2020-01-20

Hello everyone, my name is Dan Hubacher the new GM of the Nashville Predators, wanted to thank Steeve for the invite to the league. I notice that the majority of the league I will be working with for the first time which I must say is unusual around the Simon T community.

I am from Buffalo,NY where I am an inside sales rep for my company. I also have lived in Cincinnati OH while I completed my undergrad on the Kentucky side of the river. Ive been a veteran of these leagues for a long time typically mostly playing in retro leagues but recent jumped into the modern game. I am a 36 year old die hard Buffalo Sabres and season ticket holder so I have a high level of misery when it comes to my sports teams. Like Predators play by play man Pete Weber when you cant get your dream job in Buffalo Nashville seems like the place to go.

The first order of business with the current teams appears to be finding the goalie of the future after Rinne and Saros have been dealt with no replacement in sight. Depending on the goalie acquired will lay out the blueprint of what to do with this team that won the cup just two short season ago. The dream of the playoffs this year may be out of sight but with a capable starting goalie the playoffs should be obtainable next year.

With a fresh start to the team allows me the freedom of not being married to anyone allows for any player to be able to be acquire, but that doesn’t mean im just going to give away the roster. I will admit I do have a type of player when building my rosters which many will see rather quickly in trade discussions. I look forward to being an active member of the league and working with each of you. With my job I tend to be around during the day as I jump around my leagues as I make phone calls all day. Also, tend to be around after 9PM eastern once my wife and 4 year old son head to bed.
