GET READY FOR THE DRAFT

Draft
Monday August 1st - 7 PM ET - Rounds 1 and 2
Tuesday August 2nd - 7 PM ET - Rounds 3-4-5.

DRAFT IS MANDATORY, you have to be present, or send a list to the league or prepare your list on the draft page.

GMs who have draft picks and who won’t be present to the draft and won’t take dispositions for
the draft (create list, ask somebody else to take care of it for them) will be fined.
First evening (rounds 1 and 2) - $4 M
Second evening (rounds 3-4-5) - $3 M
Of course, a GM who doesn’t have any pick left doesn’t have to show up at the draft.

TRANSACTIONS / PROSPECT DRAFT

When the draft is started, you will see the time left before you draft but this is based on if every team takes 5 mins (maximum time allowed) to select his player, so this is the maximum time before you will draft.  GMs will often draft right away, so keep an eye on this, refreshing the page regularly if you are drafting in the next 4-5 teams.  That counter can go from 25 minutes to 5 mins in just 2-3 minutes in GMs are drafting quickly, so be alert.

Once you have clicked on MAKE SELECTION when it's your turn to draft, you will see this, really simple, pick the player you want in the list on your left and press SUBMIT only once.  On the right end side, you have the option to select the best player by position, i strongly suggest you're not using this option as it goes by the ranking they were giving at the draft and we have roughly 15 players by rank (8c, 8b, 7c, 7b etc...)

By the way, their ranking is not the Futurehockey ranking, its just based on the round they've been picked from at the draft last month.  Do not take more than 5 mins to draft, if you do so, it will give you the "best" player available.  When you're on the clock, you're on clock, don't lose your time and draft.  If there's a trade to announce, message me right away so i can stop the counter.  After the trade is completed, we will start the counter back.



If you think you won't be able to make it at the draft, you can create a list in advance





Click on CREATE A DRAFT LIST, and make a list of the players your want in the order you want them.  Be smart when creating your list, lets say you re drafting 26th overall, there's no point to list the top 15 players who where drafted last month, you know they ll be gone, just list the players you think would still be there.  Thats even more important if lets say you re creating your list for the second round, if you re drafting 55th, you dont want to list 55 players in your list, you know that 40-45 even 50 of them would already taken, just list the one you want and you think would still be there.

So we will draft on the portal and chat on the discussion board site, keep both windows open.

EXPENSION DRAFT

Keep in mind we will have an expansion draft after the playoffs this year, you won't be able to move any players after the trade deadline in March 2017.

The new team will pick 2 elements (players and/or prospects) per team for a total of 60 elements. 

You will have the choice between 3 different type of player protection lists for your team.

1- protect 5 forwards, 3 d-men, 1 goaltenders and 3 prospects .

Note: A team can not lose more than 1 player by position (forward, dman, goaltender and prospect).

2- protect 9 skaters and 2 prospects.

Note: A team might lose more than one player by position (forward, dman, goaltender and prospect).

3- protect 7 skaters and 7 prospects

Note: A team might lose more than one player by position (forward, dman, goaltender and prospect).

* skaters include goaltenders
