If a team wishes to terminate a player’s contract they will have to buy-out 100% the remainder of the money the player is signed for, this goes toward the salary cap This can be done between July 1st and the trade deadline ONLY).

Before the start of the regular season of your team, you can’t buyout the contract of a player you signed after the last July 1st (artificially raise your cap hit by buying out newly acquired players).

Before Free Agency starts (about 7-10 days), the teams may buy out players at a lower percentage. 

- Under the age of 26 at the time of termination, the buyout amount is 1/3rd the remaining value

- 26 or older at the time of termination, the buyout amount is 2/3rd the remaining value

You can select to put the entire amount toward the current season or the next 2.

Just send me message here in you want to buy out players before free agency - if you dont specify if its under 1 or 2 years, I ll assume its one year.
