Crosby's era is over in Detroit

By acquiring Okoposo today, the Wings feel like they have their starting line up ready for the upcoming season.

Winning the cup comes with a price and with all the players we had to sign back we would have ended with a salary cap over $100M, so we had to take difficult decisions.  We had key players who couldn't play on our top6 and with the expansion draft coming up next summer, several players were sent away.  We want to thank Sydney for the 2 cups he brought to Hockeytown and wish him the best in Arizona.  We don't have any picks in the 2020 Entry Draft but we are loaded with quality picks in 2021; 8 first round picks and 10 second round picks. We probably won't draft 18 players in the first 2 rounds next summer, you can expect the Wings to trade a few of thoses picks for 2022 picks.
