GM of the Year !!!  

Tampa Bay Lightnings  -  Jeannot St-Pierre

During the tougest season GM St-PIerre faced in this league, he was amaze that his team made it to the playoffs.  Many injuries hurt the team in the mid-season when St-Pierre lost his top 4 centerman.  Loosing guys like Pavelski, Hudler and Killorn wasn't an easy task to deal with.

St-Pierre had to call up some Ahl'ers to replace his superstars, and at that same moment in the game, all points were needed.  The race between the division was so tight, each game was like a game seven every night.

The team barely made the playoff, but got punished getting the toughest team in the league, the Detroit Red Wings. 

During the year, St-Pierre aquired some key players who will make an impact next year.  Players added during the season were Niskanen, Gardiner, Killorn, Dekeyser, Backlund, Montoya and Ward. 

Bob McKenzie tweets  " I spoke with St-Pierre this morning, and he was thrill to heard his name as the GM of the Year.  He is glad to see other GM's are looking closely to the modification done to his team."

" It's nice to know other teams follow the changes in Tampa Bay closely, it means to me that the other GM's see my team getting better, faster and foremost a threat to them" St-Pierre told TSN   " I would like to thanks all of you, GM"s of this league, for voting for me as your GM of the Year.  Good luck to the teams still left in the playoff race."
