International Leafs

2014-01-05

The Leafs have four prospects playing in the World Junior Championship.  Filip Forsberg is leading Sweden into the gold medal game and is tied for the points lead in the tournament.  Frederick Gauthier is playing for the very disappointing Canadian team and not getting much ice time. He has been good on faceoffs.  Fabrice Herzog and Mirco Mueller played for the Swiss.  Herzog scored three goals and looked good in the offensive zone.  Mueller played against the other countries best players and finished the tournament even with a goal and an assist.

Forsberg has proved why he is one of the best hockey prospects in the world.  Others who have had a very good tournaments are Detriot's Teuvo Terainen, Minnesota's Alexander Wennberg, Florida's Rasmus Ristolainen and Buffalo's Elais Lindholm and Juuse Saros.  These players are huge reasons why Finland and Sweden will meet in the gold medal game.
