Christmas Spirit #1

2013-12-08

St-Pete's Gazette

As we all know, Christmas is coming really soon, meaning lots of shopping, spending and running around for the perfect gifts.  In Tampa, Christmas is all about the fans.  Last year, if some of the GM's remember, GM St-Pierre went with Christmas outfits for his Cheerleaders to show his appreciation for the fans supporting the team.

This year, the Bolts have a difficult task in the new division because of all the talented teams fighting to earn a spot for the playoff.  Every points won or lost willl affect the standing......even an overtime win or overtime lost.

As of now, everyone knew Detroit would be the leader of the pack.  But getting real hard to make some progress when Toronto Maple Leafs have 8 wins in a row, and in the same division, the 2012-2013 Stanley Cup Champion fighting to keep their title.

"Last year was my first time in a SIM league, and we were aiming the eight spot of the standing to show all the new gm's that with a lot of work and time, everything was possible.  When I took the team over, some work needed to be done .  We have done some clean up and actually finish first in the South East division, and second in Western Conference. This year, with a bit more experience, we are aiming higher." said GM St-Pierre

But this year, as always, a part of the budget is going to the fans.  St-Pierre didn't like the fact that the attendance chart is a bit low compare to last year.

"Something needs to be done to fix that. With the nice weather, beaches and Christmas around the corner, I needed to come up with sometime to bring back the fans to full capacity at the St-Pete's arena.  So we went with a new outfits "try-out" for our Cheerleaders" St- Pierre told TSN thismorning.

The Tampa Bay will be posting some pictures and would like to have the comments of all gm's on the winning outfit for our Christmas gift to the fans.

Bob McKenzie tweeted a few minutes ago  -  " I can't wait to see the new outfits.  GM St-Pierre always comes up with awesome ideas, and new ways to attract new fans."

Stay tunes, more to come......
