Senators Move Forward

The Ottawa Senators are ready to move forward.

That simply seems to be the motto at the rink now.  Billy Young has been sitting back waiting for a moment to move and felt he was able to get the best value for a potential early 1st round pick by bringing in superstar Ryan Johansen.  He then quickly followed that deal up by adding another bright star in Ryan O'Reilly and veterans Alexander Burrows and Christian Ehroff.   Young said "We felt that we wouldn't hold on to that #1 slot over the course of the season and felt that adding Johansen and O'Reilly in particular was something that would greatly benefit our franchise moving forward.  I know our fans have been frustrated with our season so far but we had something like this in mind the whole way.  We now feel that we have pieces to build around and still have mainted some quality prospects and picks.  Between Pekka, Johansen and O'Reilly we like the foundation now.

The Senators sitting at 9 wins before the deals obviously are not focused on this season but feel they have given their fans something to get excited about and something to come watch develop the rest of the year.
