Montreal, QC -- With the 2024 trade deadline fast approaching on Friday, March 22nd...there are some players in the league that have been told "you're on the block". For those players, it's "wait and see" what happens by Friday's deadline. When asked by local media what the Habs plans for the trade deadline are, GM Mike Cooley chuckled, "Don't screw things up!" Cooley further elaborated by saying, "We're in a good spot right now after starting out slow this season, but will consider any offer that comes our way between now and Friday's trade deadline."

 

When asked if he was looking for anything in particular, Cooley added "It would be nice to pickup a shot blocking, top 4 defenseman or a bottom 6 two-way foward...but again, we will consider any offer sent to us." Only time will tell how things shape up in the league following the 2024 trade deadline, but plenty of teams are making the push for the playoffs this season with some new teams in the mix this season. The Canucks continue their run after surprising many with an impressive run last season, the Stars find themselves in the Western Conference playoff hunt, the Panthers are having a great season and picking up right where they left off last season after being left out of the playoffs and the Penguins have surged towards the top of the Metro division and the Eastern Conference.

 

Plenty of competition across the league in the hunt for the playoffs and ultimately, Lord Stanley's Cup this season. It'll be interesting to see who is wearing a new team's colors after Friday.
