Former NHLer Adam Johnson Passes Away
2023-10-29The Simnet Hockey League Canadiens, led by GM Mike Cooley, would like to take the time to remember former NHL and Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) forward Adam Johnson. While playing in a match with his Nottingham Panthers vs the Sheffield Steelers on Saturday, Johnson's neck was severely cut by an opposing player's skate blade in a horrific, on-ice accident.
The SNHL Canadiens and the rest of the hockey community mourn the loss of Adam Johnson and will play on with heavy hearts. Stick taps to number 47. Gone too soon. Thoughts and prayers are with Adam, his family and his hockey family. Rest in peace young man.

Reminded me of the Malarchuk and Zednik incidents. Sadly, it took an incredible young man and player's death, but we will now see mandatory neck and wrist protection.
