FREE AGENCY  July 1st 8PM ET

Any bids made before this date and time will be deleted

Go to:

UFA (Transactions/unrestricted free agents)

and

RFA (Transactions/ Restricted Free Agents)

(scroll to the bottom to see goaltenders).

When you go check UFA and RFA, it's possible some players already got an offer as some GMs will place offers as soon as FA starts, click the second tab (UFAs/RFAs with Offers).

24 hours after the first offer made to a player, you won't be allowed to make an offer to this player so act fast.

The player will select the best 3 offers and move to the deciding section (3rd tab) for another 24 hours. In that section, you can edit your offer if you want to offer more, but you can't enter any amount less than your original offer.

Portal will select between offers.

Chance of winning the bid:

65% for the best offer

30% for the second one

5% for the 3rd one

NOTE 1: All players signed at Free Agency come with a no trade clause that will  automatically be lifted on January 1st 2027. But you will be allowed to trade 1 of the players signed during free agency before Jan 1st.

NOTE 2: max amount of roster player is 40, so for example, if you have 30 players to your roster, you can only have 10 offers on UFAS/RFAS at the same time.

COMPENSATION CHARTS - RFA

DO NOT OFFER A CONTRACT TO A RFA IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE PICKS FOR THE COMPENSATION!!!

You can use picks from the next 4 years as a compensation if you win a RFA bid and the GM owning the rights of this player is not matching the offer. The picks from years 3 and 4 will only be used once all your picks from year 1 and 2 have be used. In other words, if you have for example 3 first rounders this year and one next year so 4 1st rounders in the next 2 years, you have to use them, you cant protect a 1st pick from year 1 and 2 just because its a good pick.

$1,575,969 or less   / None

$1,575,969 to $2,387,832  /  Third-round pick

$2,387,832 to $4,775,666  /  Second-round pick

$4,775,666 to $7,163,498  /  First- and third-round picks

$7,163,498 to $9,551,332  /  First-, second- and third-round picks

$9,551,332 to $11,939,166  /  Two firsts, one second and one third

$11,939,166 or more  /  Four first-round picks

The team owning the players rights will have up to 2 days to match the offer or they can choose to receive the compensation. If you make an offer to a RFA, win the bid but do not have the picks needed as a compensation, you lose the bid and lose your 1st round pick (3rd season from now).

Reminder: All contracts 1,999,999$ mil + per season, those players can't be sent to the minors, NHL only.

Salary Cap: $104M
Floor: $76.9M (11 teams currently below the floor)

Some GMs under the salarial floor will sometime bid on career AHLers and offer them $3-4 M just to get over the floor, these offers will be cancelled. No Michael Pezzeta at $4.5M /season, okay?

Precision on this, when 2 or more GMs are bidding on the same player, we wont cancel those offers even if they are high, if you guys see high potential in certain players, who are we to say you re wrong? This is for GMs after the 4th-5th day of Free Agency, who missed their targets and realized they ll be below the floor and start bidding 3-4-5$M on non NHL players.

Roster: 40 players Max
Prospects: Unlimited
Max amount of active players in your roster - 25
Minimum - 20

You make sure to have enough players for each position, including at least 3 goaltenders.

Guys if you have any questions, ask now... Thanks!
